We are buzzing after the success of our garden party and I’m happy to report I don’t have a single black eye after my time in the stocks so thank you everyone. We were very lucky on the day with lots of sunshine and laughter and the afternoon ended up with a water fight amongst staff and guests which I think everyone enjoyed although I appeared to be the only one who ended up in the pool thanks to Sarah Potts.

Before we discuss the money raised can I please thank all of my helpers on the day. John and James did a fantastic job with setting up for the  main event so thank you for your hard work. Thank you to all the helpers on the stalls, John Mills, James Lee, Ollie Lee, Sarah Potts, Teresa Morgan, Mark Harding, Vivienne and Julian Griffiths. A huge thank you must go to all the staff who were on shift during the day ensuring the home continued to run smoothly and bringing out the residents so they can enjoy the party too.

So Thank You Everyone You Are All Awesome!!!!!!!!!!

Now for the news you’ve been waiting for the amount raised, it is my pleasure to advise you that we raised a whopping £417.10 for the Donkey Sanctuary which I think is fantastic so well done everyone, I’m sure they will be very happy with the result………..

Our annual charity garden party is only a couple of weeks away and works are well underway to prepare the home for our grand event.

This year will be a smaller event in size but not in fun and we hope you will join us on the day to help raise money for the residents chosen charity the Donkey Sanctuary……….

Well the sun is finally shining at last hurrah!!!. Lets hope it’s here to stay for a little while at least. Works are moving forward in the gardens to get them ready for the Summer so please look out for any areas that may be closed while works are ongoing.

We have received some sad news that Dr Phillips will be retiring in July this year. Dr Phillips has been the nominated Doctor for the home for some time now and we are sorry to see her go but would like to wish her all the best in her retirement.

In other news it’s always hard to find new and exciting ways to show our appreciation to the staff for all their hard work and for all they do for the residents. Staff currently receive benefits like paid breaks, free hot drinks, squash and lunch to name a few things but we are always looking for new ways we can reward them more. One of the new ways we have introduced is for staff to have their Birthday off as Paid leave. This came into force from the 1st April 2018 and means that everyone can spend their special day with loved ones as a thank you for all they do…………….
