  1. Anne Noott

My lovely Mum, Mary, lived at Yew Tree for the last 16 months of her life, until April 2919. I cannot speak highly enough of the love, care and support offered by every member of staff throughout the time she was there, both to my Mum and also to my Dad, who visited her almost every day. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff, who dealt with the older people in their care with compassion, patience and humour. Our family members were always made to feel welcome, and a member of the nursing staff was always available to answer any questions we might have. During the last few weeks and days of Mum’s life, we all took great comfort from knowing that Mum was still receiving wonderful care; she did not appear to be in pain or to be suffering at any time, and the senior staff were able to assist us with all the practicalities following her death. Thank you all so much – I don’t know what we would all have done if we hadn’t found Yew Tree.

  2. Marlene Gough

My mom Charlotte Gough moved into Yewtree in April 2010,
It became her home and also my sister & I always felt at home
there, mom had the best care, we were very fortunate, the carers
were exceptional in their care for mom, we are indebted to them
as mom’s needs were very high, she sadly passed away on the
21st May this year, she was cared for at Yewtree for 10 years
so we think that says it all with regard to the level of care,
kindness & dignity given to our special mom, we will never forget
any of you, and Carol who led the team with real professionalism
    & kindness.
With our sincere thanks & love to you all.

It was such a relief to find a nursing home we felt Dad would settle in as he wanted to stay in his own home. A fall and broken hip meant this became impossible and thankfully there was a vacancy. From the moment he came into Yew Tree he had excellent car, given in a kind friendly and respectful way. He always told us he was warm, comfortable and quite content. He put weight one too!.

My husband and I particularly appreciated the relaxed, considerate manner the paperwork was dealt with in that we felt no pressure on us at a difficult time. Therefore we felt supported that Dad was being looked after well and ourselves too.

Dad moved to the newly decorated room in February and we felt he would enjoy his 100th there. Sadly this was not to be.

Thank you to all we appreciate your kindness and care so much.

From the very first time you cared for Dennis, in what was an emergency situation, throughout the extended time he was with you up to his final days, we were all safe in the knowledge that he was in good “hands” and he was beautifully cared for. This helped us immensely.
He always looked well presented and staff were warm, attentive and caring. Nothing was too much trouble. Communication between yourselves and Richard was excellent. Again we could always trust we would be kept up to date and informed of any developments.

We were so impressed with the level of care and support we received when Tina’s mom was in your care. In fact Tina and I have been your greatest ambassadors since then, never missing any opportunity to sing your praises.

After Tina’s mom passed away in 2015, her father continued to visit you, we questioned this need in our minds at the time. But now, after having experienced, for ourselves, the warm loving environment that is Yew Tree Nursing Home we can fully understand his need to keep in contact with you all.

EVERY member of staff exudes a friendly, warm, caring and supportive vibe. During our brief, but extremely difficult time, there was never any hesitation to offer support, comfort or help from any one of you.

Thanks to everyone member of staff from the front line nurses and direct carers, right through to support staff.

You are all angels in our mind.

    Many Thanks

    The Family of Mr TB

“The Yew Tree Nursing Home is the first home my Mother has been resident and has been there for almost a year. Fortunately for all of us things have worked out well. We find all the staff attentive and caring. They handle out of routine requests efficiently and courteously. There is plenty on at the home and residents are kept up to date with current affairs as well as activities, good menus and excellent nursing care. This has helped the family to be quite relaxed knowing Mother is well cared for and safe.

  8. Carol Ashley

Our Dad Georges health sadly declined following the death of our Mom and Dads wife of over 60 years. Due to being partially sighted and very hard of hearing despite all our efforts and the efforts of community carers Dad had many falls including a broken hip which had to be replaced. This resulted in him spending a lot of time in hospital and no longer being able to stay at home. After a trial period at a residential home and a prolong stay in hospital in December 2017 and early January 2018 it became apparent that Dad needed a higher level of care. Our immediate choice was Yew Tree, as they had nursed and cared for our Mom during the last months of her life as well as looking after us during that dreadful time, and had cared for my sisters mother in law for many years. We were afraid Dad would not make it out of hospital as his health had deteriorated so badly, but Carol went out of her way to get Dad assessed and into suitable room in a very short period of time. The care that he received once at Yew Tree was outstanding, within a day he was clean, well dressed, eating he was being treated like a genuinely cared for person as opposed to just an old person taking up a bed. Over the subsequent months he has had his good days and not so good days, but thanks to the care of the medical staff any changes to his health are picked up quickly and medicines changed as required. He has developed trusting and caring relationships with the management, medical staff, care staff and activities staff who always have time to chat to him and make a point of finding out about his past, his family, his likes – so they can talk to him and get him to engage. The lovely coffee shop is great way for us to spend quality time with Dad in a homely environment in addition to the lovely Garden Lounge and front lounge where Dad spends his daytime hours. We are encouraged and helped by the staff to take Dad out to family events or just for a drive and a coffee, and nothing is too much trouble, even when we ask for him to be ready and dressed to come out to a party !!! The food at Yew Tree is wonderful, and the Saturday brunch is not to be missed!! we are always invited to join in the meals when we are around. Dad has always been a fussy eater, but he loves the food at Yew Tree as can be witnessed by the fact his weight is back to a healthy level. The whole atmosphere is one of a happy family home, there is always a cup of tea/coffee on offer for residents and visitors. Yew Tree have given us our Dad back, we can just come along and have quality time with him in a clean, safe, friendly homely environment at anytime of day – even the kids are catered for with the lovely play area in the secure courtyard. We also feel comforted in the knowledge that they will continue to cover his needs as they change. A really big thank you to everyone at Yew Tree.
