Yew Tree Nursing Home is a well established home located in the picturesque rural village of Romsley. The home has extensive grounds surrounding the home with both patio areas and sun terraces overlooking our resident Shetland pony and home reared hens. The gardens are easily accessible for the enjoyment of all residents. There is also a secluded and enclosed ornamental patio area which is accessible to all residents at any time and enabling the residents to grow herbs and vegetables and take part in gardening activities as part of their daily living. Alternatively they can just relax in one of the many seating areas and enjoy the fresh air and peaceful location of the home with only the sound of the wind chimes, the water feature and occasionally the hens or pony saying hello to break the ambiance.
Yew Tree accommodates forty residents providing comprehensive care including full nursing care, dementia care, private residential and respite opportunities. The home layout is over two floors incorporating the ground and first floor with lift access. We have various bedrooms, the majority are single en-suite, (we have some double rooms), with some bedrooms having views over the surrounding countryside.
There are four lounges to choose from each with its own unique personality. The front lounge is located within our specialised dementia unit which has recently undergone a full refurbishment to enable each resident to engage in meaningful occupation as part of their daily life.
The garden lounge is the largest lounge in the home with a bright and airy feel with views and accessibility for all residents to the outside sun terrace. The room has an attractive dining area with ample seating and refreshments are available at all times for residents and their families.
We have two quaint lounges which provide the resident with a more private, intimate and relaxing environment ideal for family visits and special occasions. The quiet lounge is located next to the nurses office on the ground floor and the interior design has a garden feel which gives a more tranquil and calm feeling. The reading room is located on the first floor and provides a selection of reading material for the resident’s pleasure.
We would very much like you to visit Yew Tree to see for yourselves the level of service we offer. Visitors are able to visit at any time and an appointment is not necessary. Carol and Vicky or a member of staff would be happy to show you round, we would just ask that meal times be avoided for the privacy of the residents these are between 12.30pm to 1.30pm and 5.00pm to 6.00pm.
